Germany:
We've found that no place celebrates Christmas quite like Germany's Christkindlesmärkte. In Nuremberg, we couldn't resist the city's signature Nürnberger Bratwurst served in a crusty roll, small but packed with flavor, and the irresistible aroma of cinnamon and cloves from freshly baked Lebkuchen. Add a cup of Glühwein, and you've got pure holiday happiness.

Austria:
Vienna feels like a fairytale at Christmas. We love stopping for a slice of Sachertorte or a warm Apfelstrudel, both perfectly paired with a cup of thick, creamy hot chocolate. Strolling through the market near St. Stephen's Cathedral, surrounded by music and lights, it's impossible not to get swept up in the festive charm.

France:
In Strasbourg, the self-proclaimed "Capital of Christmas," the markets are a perfect blend of French elegance and Alsatian tradition. Indulge in Bredele cookies, sip spiced wine, and admire the half-timbered houses draped in twinkling lights. It's a city that practically glows with joy.

Belgium:
Brussels always sweetens the season with its famous chocolates and speculoos cookies. Who could resist stopping for a waffle drizzled in melted chocolate? Warm, crispy, and wildly decadent, it's everything you could want. The market's cheerful energy, with lights reflecting on the cobblestones, is the perfect finale to a northern route.
Why It's Special:
Each market we visit reminds us why we love this tradition so much: the laughter, the flavors, and that shared sense of wonder that defines the holiday season. Whether we're sipping Glühwein in Munich, admiring handmade ornaments in Dresden, or strolling through Nuremberg's historic square, these markets capture the heart of what traveling during Christmastime is all about. It's connection, delight, and a little bit of magic in the winter air.
